Plot of the film "The Grudge"
There are people who believe that when someone dies in a fit of intense rage, a curse is born. The curse becomes an entity, a supernatural force called "Resentment", which is reborn again and again, passing from one victim to another in an ever-growing chain of murders and horrors. Of course, Detective Muldoon doesn't believe in all this nonsense. She has enough pain and heartache in the real world. After her husband's death from cancer, it was enough for her to just comfort her little son, move to a new city and try to start all over again. There was no need to waste precious energy fighting some mumbo-jumbo about the curse. But, as you know, now it's also on her plate. On the same day she moves to a new site, Muldoon receives a case of a rotting corpse in a car found in a nearby forest. It turns out that this corpse is connected to the house where a murder took place a few years ago. As a result of this terrible crime, an entire family was killed. Muldoon's new partner, Detective Goodman, is still so shaken up by the case he and his former partner were working on that he doesn't even want to enter the house where the murder took place. He doesn't look like some kind of religious lunatic, but this sophisticated cop says that the energy at home is somehow wrong. Muldoon doesn't have such superstitious slanders. But the more she digs, the more disturbing elements she finds: other deaths, other features, other unexplained and undisclosed connections. And they all seem to be connected to this house.
