Rambo: Last Blood

Now, in his last years, John Rambo is trying to control everything. At least that's what he tells himself. After all, control is very important: it allows you to keep anger and anxiety in check, and the world's evil at a distance. That's why John forces himself to work so hard on his horse ranch. That's why these days he's swallowing prescription pills like candy. That is why he tries to keep his niece Gabrielle - the only living member of the family - under his loving wing of protection. But just the thought that his sweet, innocent Gabrielle will soon go to college makes John Rambo worry. The thought makes his stomach cramp, his fists clench, his muscles tense. But he can handle it. He will take care of himself, get another bottle of pills and calm down. However, when Gabrielle announces that she has somehow found her reclusive father in Mexico and wants to go there to see him, John's pressure rises a few more points. She does not know the evil of this world, he argues. She doesn't understand how black some people's hearts are. He's not a good man! John talks about her father through clenched teeth and a throbbing vein in his temple. However, despite the fact that Gabrielle says she understands everything and says she will stay safe on their small ranch in their small Arizona town, she still goes across the border. John finds out about this only when Gabriel goes missing, when something terrible has already happened to his dearest beloved in the world.
