Plot of the film "Wonder Woman 1984"
The film opens in Themyscira, where a young Diana (Lilly Aspell) participates in sports competitions of Amazons. She rides a horse over a distance while her Aunt Antiope (Robin Wright) and Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) watch her. Although Diana shows good results at first, in the middle of the way she is knocked off her horse, and she begins to lag behind. She tries to shorten the path and catches up with the horse to be one of the first to return to the arena. Before she can throw the spear for the winning throw, Antiope stops her, as she cheated. Despite Diana's protests, her aunt and mother lecture her on what to know when she is ready to win. Fast forward to 1984, where a quartet of thieves tries to rob a jewelry store in a shopping mall, considering it a cover for black market operations. The plan is foiled when it seems that their cover is blown, and one of the thieves grabs a little girl and throws her over the ledge in a desperate attempt to avoid jail. Wonder Woman (now played by Gal Gadot) comes to the rescue to rescue the girl and take her to a safe place. Using a glove and a lasso, she fights the thieves and detains them, and then hands them over to the police. Wonder Woman flees the scene of the crime before the audience can determine who this mysterious heroine is.
