Plot of the film "In the Shadow of the Moon"
Thomas Lockhart, a police officer, is confronted with the mysterious deaths of three random people whose brains leaked out through their nose and mouth. Thomas, his partner Maddox and his brother-in-law Holt track down the suspect, a young black woman. They try to corner her at the subway station, and Maddox gets his ass kicked. Dr. Navin tries to talk to Thomas about time travel, but he fails to attract the attention of the policeman. Following the key from 1988, Thomas finds himself at the airfield. Encountering a killer there, Maddox gets shot. The killer escapes by plane, taking Thomas hostage. Leaving him on the shore of the lake, she leaves incognito. Thomas is an exhausted private detective who has dedicated his life to finding a mysterious female killer. His daughter is being raised by Holt. Thomas believes that the killer is a time traveler, and Dr. Navin is somehow connected to him. Investigating the case of an unregistered victim in 1988, Thomas meets with the wife of the deceased.
