Derrick Tyler has always been smart. He knew how to make things work. Together with his best friend Rafe, he turned a small advertising and marketing firm into a million-dollar enterprise. He married Tracy, an equally bright and incredibly beautiful woman. And he built a life filled with beautiful things. However, this does not mean that Derrick was necessarily... happy. Tension and stress in marital and professional life can weigh on a person. Therefore, when he and Rafe go to Vegas for a friend's bachelor party, Derrick does not act quite wisely. He takes off his wedding ring, starts chatting with a woman named Val at a club, starts lying and ends up in bed with her. However, after lying a few more times the next morning, Derrick hopes that he has left his stupid choice in the past. He will fly home. Will return to normal life. And it will start working again. But here's the bad luck: on the night when Derrick returns home, some bandit breaks into his house. When the police arrive, the chief detective turns out to be a woman: an officer named Detective Val Quinlan. Looks like she just got back from a trip to Vegas, too. "Did you say your name was Derrick or Darrin, Mr. Tyler?" asks Detective Quinlan with a sardonic look. And Derrick starts going over in his head all the lies he told this woman during and after sex. The detective continues to nudge Derrick in not-too-friendly ways while he is sitting on the couch next to his wife, and Derrick can't shake the feeling that he is in a difficult situation.
