Plot of the film "Endangered Species"
It was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime. Halsey, of course, could afford it -a trip to sub-Saharan Africa to see its magnificent wildlife. They were spending their last real vacation as a family before 18-year-old Zoey goes to college. (The five of them-Father Jack, mother Lauren, son Noah, Zoey, and Zoey's boyfriend, Billy-were going to bring home memories they would never forget. Only... Only Jack knows that they can't afford it-after that "accident" at work. One small oil spill, and suddenly oilman Jack finds himself on unpaid administrative leave. Jack doesn't think he's going to get fired, but he watches the vacation meter run while the family gets to their luxury resort. And he definitely can't afford a fancy official safari. The family can't be called big and happy either. Zoey calls Jack "Jack" or more rude words, but she just looks at Billy. (Noah still loves his father, but the father harshly pursues his talented son, and it's hard for him to accept Noah's boyfriend, Sam. But that won't stop Halsey from making this trip unforgettable! No, Sirry. Thanks to several questionable decisions, this trip will be truly unforgettable. For example: Jack decides to abandon the official safari (which, as you remember, he can't afford) and go hiking in the African wilderness on his own, on gum. Who's going to stop them from driving into a wildlife park in their own rented van?
