Plot of the film "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"

The film begins at number four Privet Drive, where Harry lives with his aunt, uncle and cousin Dudley. Harry is pining because he hasn't heard from his friends Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Hagrid since he returned to Privet Drive at the end of his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At breakfast, Uncle Harry informs him that until business guests come to him in the evening, Harry must stay in his bedroom and not make a sound. Harry agrees and retires to his bedroom, which was once Dudley's second bedroom, but when he arrives there, it turns out that he is not alone. He finds Dobby the house elf there. Dobby warns Harry not to go back to school this year. He tells him that terrible things will happen there. Harry insists that he should come back to see his friends, if not more, and Dobby tries to convince Harry that his friends don't like him, since they haven't written him a single letter. Harry finds out that Dobby has been taking Harry's letters from his friends all summer, and tries to return them. Dobby escapes from the room and goes downstairs, where he uses magic to destroy Uncle Vernon's business lunch, hoping that Harry will be expelled from school for using magic at home.
