Plot of the film "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"
The film opens with a description of the Dursley family, a middle-class family living in Little Whinging, Surrey. Vernon and Petunia Dursley are constantly worried that someone will find out about the witch Petunia's sister, Lily, and their concern is justified when Lily's baby, Harry's son, turns up on their doorstep. Lily and her husband, James Potter, were killed by the dark wizard Voldemort, but when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, his power somehow collapsed. Harry becomes the only living person to ever survive a murderous curse, and the only sign of his encounter with Voldemort is a unique lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. Since Harry has no other living relatives, Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, decides to keep him with the Dursleys until he is old enough to attend Hogwarts. Ten years later, Harry grew up and turned into a pale, thin boy with black hair that sticks out in all directions and bright green eyes. From an early age, Harry is told that his parents died in a car accident, but he has no other information about them, not even photos. Harry's cousin Dudley dominates the family, bullying Harry with his gang of friends and being spoiled by Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. While Dudley has two bedrooms - one for his bed and one for all his broken toys - Harry is assigned a small closet under the stairs.
