Plot of the film "Dolittle"
Dr. John Doolittle was once a celebrity in England. He was widely known as a man who loved animals so much that he learned to speak their language. In fact, Doolittle became so beloved by the Queen of England that she gave him his own estate and a huge nature reserve full of animals. Gorillas, elephants, polar bears, peacocks, rodents and birds of all shapes and sizes: Call it what you want, they flocked to Doolittle and inhabited his shelter surrounded by a wall. Many people also appeared on his doorstep just to get his wise and insightful help in solving their bestial problems. In fact, Doolittle was not only an animal psychologist, but also a veterinarian and a doctor. Dr. Doolittle was really happy and loved. But his beloved wife Lily, herself an energetic adventurer, died during a sea voyage. And the moment he found out about her death, everything changed in the good man's life. Doolittle blamed himself for not trying to save Lily from a dangerous journey. He lamented that he could not help the only person who meant more to him than anyone or anything else in the world. And since then, he refused visitors - he stopped seeing and talking to people at all - and became a forgotten hermit hiding in a forgotten estate.
