A Dog's Way Home

Bella is a stray dog of mixed breed. Mutt. Of course, she doesn't know that. She doesn't know what it all means. She doesn't even know her name is Bella. And yet. She just knows the life of a carefree puppy among a group of other stray dogs and cats sheltering under an abandoned plot. However, Bella soon learns what fear is. People appear and drag away her mother and most of the other animals living under the crumbling foundation of the building. They are rude and mean. They have sticks with ropes and cages. She and the mother cat barely manage to escape from their hands. Then Bella finds out about love. The next person Bella meets is Lucas. He is good and kind. He's perfect. He saves her, gives her food and a house. Lucas gives her a name. And he gives her human games. She really likes "Take the ball!" and "Don't bite your shoes!". "Get on the bed!" is also always good. And her most, most favorite game is "Do you want a small piece of cheese?". When Lucas plays this game, Bella feels warm inside. Yes, life is very, very good. But it's not perfect. A man called an "animal control officer" wants to take Bella away. It doesn't mean anything to her, but this evil man classified Bella as a pit bull, a breed that is banned in Denver, where Lucas and Bella live.
