Plot of the film "The New Mutants"
The "new Mutants" already feel like they belong to another, perhaps more innocent era. More precisely, it seems that it was filmed somewhere in the 1980s or 90s and that, along with the aforementioned sources, it was inspired by proto-school film classics, that is, if the latter took place in a semi-modern psychiatric hospital, where five teenage mutants from different walks of life undergo group psychotherapy trying to master their new abilities. The story is narrated on behalf of Dani Moonstar, a Native American woman who survived a traumatic accident and then woke up tied to a bed in a remote psychiatric clinic under the guidance of the mysterious Dr. Reyes. The story follows Dani as she learns that she is not alone in this strange science exhibition experiment. Among her cellmates are Illyana Rasputin, a Russian with teleportation abilities and a bad mood; Rain Sinclair, a Scottish girl with ferocious animal instincts, but a kind heart; Brazilian hunk Roberto da Costa, who is too hot to handle; and Sam Guthrie, a good old Kentucky guy who talks like he was raised on a jug of moonshine and has the ability to project himself at lightning speed.
