Plot of the film "The Protégé"
Anna is a highly skilled contract killer, cold-blooded and efficient. She also has impeccable taste in clothes, food, and literature-the rare bookstore she runs in London is both an innocent cover and her real passion-and she's quick to make a joke, no matter the situation. The opening flashback of 1991 shows us where she comes from: from Da Nang, Vietnam, where she was hiding in a closet, with a gun and surrounded by dead bodies, when she was found by the arrogant killer Moody played by Samuel L. Jackson and turned her into the killing machine that she is today. (Jackson, of course, can play such an obscene and irreverent character in a dream). But the reckoning for the death of a decade ago forces Anna to face both her traumatic childhood and cultural roots. At least, that's supposed to be what's supposed to happen.; The "Protege" never digs too deep on the way to its abrupt end. When the bad guys chase Moody, she has to chase them. Along the way, she becomes entangled with Michael Rembrandt as Keaton, the ruthless repairman of a billionaire criminal who proclaims himself a global humanist.
