Some people, no matter how strong their friendship is, are simply not destined to get along in the same house. Addie and Noel are happy when they find inexpensive housing on the Upper East Side of New York, even if it is strangely arranged and not completely clean, but tension immediately arises. Noel imagines how the two of them will enjoy this apartment for a long time. Addie sees her as a temporary home until she moves in with boyfriend Greg, although it's unclear that he wants that, and on a social level he seems to get along better with Noelle. The situation is aggravated when a stranger enters the door of the house one afternoon. Initially posing as an agent of a rental company, she soon finds herself obsessed with a conspiracy theorist who wants to investigate the apartment because she believes it once belonged to Jeffrey Epstein. Noelle is ready to accept this because the stranger is cute, and soon they are sleeping together. While Noel begins to get into the stranger's obsession, something much stranger happens to Addie. Clearly a survivor of childhood abuse, she becomes obsessed with another kind, making sexual proposals that frighten poor Greg, and covering her walls with Prince Andrew memorabilia. In this anarchic reaction to the Epstein case, there is a sense of revenge, possession of forbidden ideas...
