Cosmic Sin

The action of the film "Star Frontier" takes place far in the future, at times it seems to be a gratuitous triumph of the human mentality "shoot first, and then ask questions." The film tells about a group of soldiers who launch a preemptive strike against an alien race when first contact fails. The film is written by Edward and Corey Large (who plays Dash in the film) and has a somewhat dystopian character, partly due to the gloomy scenery. From collapsing bars on Earth to intergalactic settlements and spaceships, all the decorations, despite their visual appeal, depict a world devoid of colors and life. Equally depressing is the scriptwriters' decision to present most of the film's characters as cynical, battle-weary/hardened people or overly energetic soldiers, and the question arises what kind of future can inspire such gloomy prospects. Bruce Willis plays the role of James Ford, a notorious general with a bloody combat past, called upon to stop an intergalactic war before it begins. Sullen and brooding, Ford is a character with whom it is difficult to get emotionally close, and despite some moments of fragility, few people like him.
