Oslo

In 1993, Israeli forces seized Gaza and other Palestinian States, but their actions were viewed by the whole world as tyrannical. Both sides wanted to find a way out: Israel wanted to end the war, and the Palestinians wanted their home back. But their representative organization, the PLO, could not trust the Israelis, and therefore communication was not initiated. It was then that Norwegian Terje Roed-Larsen and his wife Mona Juul created a model of negotiations to bring both sides to the negotiating table for a joint dialogue about peace. Communication of any Israeli with a member of the PLO was illegal, so the channel had to be kept secret. Terje gathered under one roof in Oslo (Norway) the PLO press secretary Ahmed Kurei and Israeli professor Yair Hirschfeld. The documents prepared in this way by PLO and Israeli officials at the Borregaard estate became known as the "Oslo Accords". Mona and her husband Terje promised each other that they would only play the role of intermediaries in establishing communication between the two rivals. Under no circumstances will they take an active part in the conversation or influence the decision of any party. However, even with all her neutrality, Mona had her share of interest, but it was exclusively human, not mercantile.
