Padgett Sawyer is a "makeover" influencer on social media who believes that her makeup lessons add value to people's lives. Following this myth, she regularly posts photos and videos to help her subscribers. In college, Padgett meets with the famous singer/dancer Jordan Van Draanen. Their relationship flourishes until Jordan cheats on Padgett with a fellow dancer. The fight between Jordan and Padgett is recorded live on Padgett's profile by her boyfriend Alden. The viral video makes Padgett the object of memes, which deprives her of an ideal image and sponsorship. To get revenge on Jordan, Padgett accepts Alden's challenge. She bets on the transformation of another college guy and makes him the prom king. For her sinister revenge, she chooses the most unpopular and cynical guy in school, Cameron Queller, who hides everything under his cap. Padgett approaches Cameron and persuades him to go with her to Alden's birthday party, but on one condition. Padgett gets the opportunity to transform Cameron from head to toe.
